I'm speaking at Press Publish in Portland, March 28th 2015 (+ a coupon code!) #Events#conference#speaking engagements#wordpress March 16 2015 | Ariel offbeatresilience I've been asked to speak at Press Publish, an awesome digital publishing conference in Portland that's happening on March 28, 2015. Presented by Automattic (the company behind WordPress.com), it's a one-day event designed to inspire and educate anyone who wants to dive in with a WordPress blog. I'll be doing a Q&A session with Jen Mylo, an Automattic staffer who I know from waaaaay back in the days at the dawn of blogging. We used to go to blogger meetups back in 2001, when "we all know what a blog is" used to be enough of a thing in common to justify everyone getting along. Can you believe there was ever such a time?! Jen is going to be interviewing me on stage, talking about stuff like: How the fuck did I end up building a publishing business out of weddings, when I didn't really even like planning my own wedding? How I've used social media to extend the Offbeat Empire's reach What publisher challenges I deal with The tools and methods I use to deal with those challenges The details When: Saturday March 28th, 2015 Where: Embassy Suites in downtown Portland, OR Who else is speaking: OMG, so many amazing people! I love seeing a tech conference so dedicated to diversity How much: Tickets are normally $150, but Friends of the Empire (FOEs?) can get in for $30 with the coupon code ariel30 Your ticket also gets you a 1-year subscription to the WordPress.com Premium upgrade worth $99 — so $30 is a major deal. I'm already beyond excited for the conference (it's a major honor to be asked to speak!), and I'm going to get extra triple excited if there are some Offbeat Empire readers there. Hope to see some of you soon! Get your ticket TODAY If you're coming, be sure to leave a comment… I'm crossing my fingers to meet some of y'all in Portland, since Lovesick Expo doesn't get there… Reporter Name * Reporter Email * Original text Enter the original text here.
